Edison S.p.A. is an Italian electric utility company headquartered in Milan, Italy. The company was established in 1884 and acquired by Electricité de France in 2012. Edison employs more than 5,000 people in Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. Edison is Europe's oldest energy provider, with more than 135 years of history. It produces and sells electricity and natural gas and provides energy and environmental services to customers. It carries out integrated activities along the gas and electricity value chain and wants to be a key player in the country's energy transition. Its goal is to bring production from renewable sources to 40% of the production mix by 2030, setting sustainability targets that guide development in the fields of renewable and low-carbon generation, sustainable mobility, energy efficiency, and services for customers. It is committed to the diversification of gas supply sources and routes for the security and competitiveness of the country.
