Exelon was formed by the merger of Unicom Corporation (formerly Commonwealth Edison Company) and PECO Energy Company (formerly Philadelphia Electric Company) in 2000 and is headquartered in Illinois, US. Exelon is a utility services holding company engaged in the energy distribution and transmission businesses through six fully regulated utilities — Atlantic City Electric (ACE), Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE), Commonwealth Edison (ComEd), Delmarva Power & Light (DPL), PECO Energy Company (PECO), and Potomac Electric Power Company (Pepco). In 2022, the company had 19,063 employees and generated $19,078 million in revenue.
