Lemonade was incorporated in 2015, with its headquarters in New York City, US. Lemonade offers renters, condo, and home insurance, pet health insurance, and term life insurance, and has most recently added Lemonade Car. Lemonade uses AI and chatbots to allocate insurance policies. It allows its users to file claims on their desktop and mobile (via Lemonade’s iOS and Android apps) without engaging with insurance brokers. A Certified B-Corp, Lemonade gives unused premiums to nonprofits selected by its community, during its annual Giveback. Lemonade is currently available in the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, France, and the UK, and continues to expand globally. As of December 31, 2022, the company had 1,367 employees, 951 of whom were based in the United States and the rest of whom were based outside of the United States, primarily in Israel and the Netherlands.
