The company operates automotive franchises and retails new and used vehicles and offers vehicles online through a widespread retail network. It also provides other automotive-related services such as vehicle maintenance, warranty, paint and repair, and vehicle protection products. The company merchandise and sell economy and luxury cars, sport utility vehicles (SUVs), crossovers, minivans, and trucks through its domestic, luxury, and international franchises residing in various mid-sized regional markets and metropolitan markets. It also provides extensive maintenance services in its state-of-the-art auto-repair centers which assist the customers in after-sales services of vehicles and also maintains an in-house car financing team at each dealership store across the US. With the broadest coast-to-coast automotive retail network in the U.S., Lithia reaches 92% of consumers with its expanding physical network and digital conveniences. As of December 31, 2022, the company operated 296 locations representing 48 brands in two countries, across 28 U.S. states and 3 Canadian provinces. During 2022, litha motors acquired 31 stores, opened one store, and divested thirteen stores. Additionally, the company invested $1.1 billion, net of floor plan debt, to acquire these stores and anticipates these acquisitions to add nearly $3.5 billion in annualized revenues.
