Overview

The Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) is a public organization of independent corporate personalities, headquartered in the City of Riyadh. Saudi Red Crescent Authority was established under the name of the Saudi Red Crescent Society on 16/1/1383 AH (1963). By 2009, the Society had 447 First Aid Centers, run by 5,507 staff, with 1300 ambulances which are distributed in all hospitals and centers in the country. Its activities include all parts of the Kingdom and its system is based on the Geneva Conventions and the principles approved by conferences. It is a public governmental institution, and a member of the International League of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, which is currently called the “International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.” Its objectives are to provide emergency medical care to needy citizens and expatriates throughout the Kingdom, and the guests of God during the Hajj seasons from all over the world.
