U-Haul is a subsidiary of UHaul Holding Company, which was founded in 1945 and is the largest self-moving and storage operator in North America. The company offers a wide range of products and services to customers, including moving equipment rentals, self-storage units, portable units, and related products. U-Haul also sells boxes, tape, and other moving and storage products to its customers through its distribution outlets, website, and mobile app. The company relies on a network of independent dealers located throughout the US and Canada. As of March 31, 2023, U-Haul had nearly 21,300 independent rental dealers and over 35,000 employees in the US and Canada. The company operates over 2,200 retail locations, 11 manufacturing and assembly facilities, 151 fixed-site repair facilities, a distribution center, and corporate offices. U-Haul Holding Company is the parent company for U-Haul International, Amerco Real Estate Company, Repwest Insurance Company, and Oxford Life Insurance Company.
