The global market for air taxi is projected to have considerable CAGR of around 26.5% during the forecast period. Several companies such as Airbus, Boeing, and others have been making investments in passenger as well as logistics air vehicles and drones. Airbus has invested heavily in the development of two ambitious air vehicle projects named CityAirbus and Vahana. CityAirbus is a multi-passenger vertical take-off and landing demonstrator designed with cost efficiency in mind. Whereas, Vahana is a single passenger self-piloted vehicle which is being developed to open urban airways. Airbus has also partnered with the National University of Singapore to parcel small packages to the university campus using unmanned aircraft developed for logistics. Further, in January 2019, Boeing completed the first flight of Boeing NeXt its in-house autonomous passenger air vehicle, it is powered by an electric propulsion system with a range of 80 Kms.
