Additionally, in July 2021, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation launched an initiative to collect e-waste from the doorsteps of residents. The campaign was launched from Gajapati Nagar with the civic body’s sanitation wing members visiting all households and sensitizing people about disposing of e-waste in safaiwalas of their area. They also collected e-waste like damaged cards, keyboards, broken parts of mobile phones, and remotes.

Singapore’s first nationwide electrical and electronic waste (e-waste) management system based on extended producer responsibility (EPR) was launched on July 1, 2021. This system is carried out under sections 12 to 17 (requirements for the management of e-waste) of the Resource Sustainability Act 2019 which came into effect on the same day. ALBA has been appointed as the authorized operator of the Producer Responsibility Scheme (PRS) for the recycling of e-waste to collect regulated products and implement other measures for the proper management of e-waste.

In January 2019, to make Ernakulam an e-waste-free district, the program ‘Iniyilla e-waste’ (No more e-waste) was launched. The major aim of the project is to collect the e-waste, which is posing a great threat to the environment, systematically and to hand over it for scientific treatment and recycling.
