Green Tires Market To Reach $538.01 Million by 2035

Published: Oct 2026

Green Tires Market was estimated at approximately $157.10 million in 2025 and is projected to reach $538.01 million by 2035, expanding at a 13.10% CAGR from 2026 to 2035. Green tires are gaining traction as tire manufacturers and vehicle producers increasingly focus on lower rolling resistance, reduced material intensity, recycled and renewable feedstocks, and improved lifecycle sustainability.

A key macro driver is the continued expansion of global vehicle production and electrified mobility. According to the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA), global vehicle production increased from 92.7 million units in 2024 to 96.4 million units in 2025, representing a 3.9% increase. The expanding vehicle parc creates a larger replacement-tire opportunity while increasing demand for products that can improve fuel or energy efficiency and reduce lifecycle emissions.

Electrification is further influencing tire design because EVs place greater emphasis on rolling resistance, durability, noise, and weight. The European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) reported that battery-electric vehicles accounted for 17.4% of new EU car registrations in 2025, up from 13.6% in 2024, while hybrid-electric vehicles reached a 34.5% share. This transition is encouraging tire manufacturers to develop products optimized for electrified vehicles and sustainable material usage.

Manufacturers are responding through product innovation, sustainable-material integration, and circular-economy initiatives. Pirelli launched the P Zero E in July 2023, containing more than 55% natural or recycled-origin materials and incorporating technology specifically designed for battery-electric vehicles. Bridgestone introduced ENLITEN technology in motorsport in August 2023, with tires containing 63% recycled and renewable materials, demonstrating pathways for scaling sustainable compounds and materials.

In January 2024, Continental highlighted the transfer of rice-husk silica, recovered carbon black, and recycled PET technologies from concept development into series-produced tires.

In June 2024, Continental's Hefei tire plant received ISCC PLUS certification as the company targeted more than 40% renewable and recycled materials in its tires by 2030.

Continental also launched its Conti Eco Gen 5 truck tire line in April 2024, combining low rolling resistance with high mileage to support fleet fuel and emissions reduction.

More recently, Pirelli launched a closed-loop recycling initiative in North America in May 2026 with Bolder Industries, converting manufacturing scrap tires through pyrolysis into recovered carbon black for use in new tires. These developments indicate that competition is increasingly shifting toward sustainable raw materials, EV-specific tire engineering, low rolling resistance, recycled-content integration, and circular manufacturing models.
