For instance, in January 2021, LG announced that it has built a special frame at the foot of the bed and houses a 55-inch transparent OLED panel in which on pressing the button the screen rises from the frame to display content at various ratios. The smart bed frame is movable and can be relocated throughout the home. LG also demonstrated the application of a transparent OLED display on a subway train in the metro zone. The transparent display will allow passengers to see the passing scenery with clear information such as subway train maps, weather information, and other news.

For instance, in January 2020, Samsung Electronics filed a patent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) which was published in August 2020. The patent described the technology used to develop transparent smartphones and the same technology can be applied to develop the transparent display of other consumer electronics products such as TV, monitor, game console, and camera. 

Apart from this, in June 2020, Crystal display systems ltd. enhanced its GhosTOLED with an advanced active ventilation system to enhance its reliability and performance by ensuring cooling. The ventilation system helps in keeping the displays within a healthy performance.  In July 2020 Xiaomi started working on new smartphones featuring a wraparound display and a transparent black panel. According to the patent filed by Xiaomi at China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) the phone has a 108 camera megapixel super camera with AI and 5g connectivity.
