Recent Development

• In May 2024, the Biden-Harris Administration invested $6.6 million in a new Data Assimilation Consortium to advance weather forecasting. The consortium will enhance numerical prediction systems and global partnerships. The study will employ data assimilation, merging many sources of information to estimate a system's state over time.
