On August 16 2023, Israel-based connectivity solutions company Silicom announced that they’re working on a new product line of high-end edge products.
This product line will focus on developing highly powerful edge computing platform and solutions for Silicom’s customers and strategic prospects, with the goal of providing them with seamless solutions across a wide variety of domains such as cybersecurity, AI and much more.
"Our decision to develop this new Edge product line followed demand from both major customers and strategic prospects," said Liron Eizenman, the CEO of Silicom. "They turned to us as a trusted and well-established Edge leader to provide them with a new breed of Edge platforms – each with highly attractive cost/performance ratios - to support their compute-intensive use cases.”
These developments will also help Silicom further its growth in providing networking and infrastructure solutions which are becoming increasingly important as the technological and connectivity demands of the world continue to grow. This growth is especially expected to be high in the Edge Computing market, where hardware, connectivity and software solutions are often required for efficiency.
