A Schottky barrier diode, also known as the Schottky diode, is a metal-semiconductor diode with a low voltage and high speed of switching. The diode of Schottky is a different type of semiconductor diode; however, it has a significantly lower forward voltage than the conventional silicone PN-junction diode.
