Trend Towards Sustainable Packaging to Drive the European Consumer Packaging Market

Published: Sep 2020

The European consumer packaging market is estimated to grow at a CAGR of 4.8% during the forecast period. The rising demand for highly sustainable packaging across end-user industries is creating a scope for the growth of the market. Food and beverage and cosmetic firms are continuously working towards replacing their product packaging with 100% recyclable packaging solutions. For instance, in October 2019, L’Oréal S.A. declared the development of the very first paper-based cosmetic tube, in partnership with Albéa, a provider of cosmetic packaging. Its launch on the market is scheduled in 2020. This initiative will reduce environmental impact and improve the footprint of the L’Oréal packaging. This innovation will enable L’Oréal group brands to replace a large amount of plastic currently utilized in their tubes with newly certified paper-like and bio-based material.

Each association partners are estimated to reveal their own branded paper bottles, which is based on the design and technology of Pulpex Limited, in 2021.
