For instance, in July 2020, Engineered Polymer Solutions (EPS) introduced the EPS 2400 series in North America. EPS 2400 is a new series of company’s six waterborne acrylic resins including EPS 2420, EPS 2454, EPS 2458, EPS 2426, EPS 2452, and EPS 2430. EPS 2400 can be used by the formulators of wood coating for the production of high-performance solutions for industrial applications, and flooring, cabinetry, and furniture. Wood coatings formulated with EPS 2400 can offer superior leveling and faster dry times, enhanced durability, and excellent mechanical and chemical resistance. EPS 2400 has a balance of properties that can support manufacturers to streamline production and decrease production times. The launch of this new product in North America will enable the company to generate significant revenue in the region.

In May 2019, Allnex Netherlands B.V. introduced SETAQUA 6799, a waterborne acrylic resin for application in joinery and decorative wood markets. Surfactant free stabilization mechanism of SETAQUA 6799 provides excellent application properties when rolled or brushed and enables comprehensive formulation latitude. Generally, in pigmented systems, this new resin can offer excellent gloss retention and superior outdoor durability performance. It is resistant to accelerated weathering and in real outdoor exposure.

In March 2019, Arkema S.A. introduced ENCOR 601 acrylic latex for applications in low volatile organic compounds (VOCs) masonry coating applications. This new resin is properly formulated and offers excellent surfactant leaching resistance. These features enable to reduce the possibility of stain formation and other undesired impacts in a finished coating. It is a 100% acrylic binder that provides a range of advantages to the formulator, such as superior adhesion in dry and wet conditions, surfactant leaching resistance, low VOC properties, better efflorescence and alkali resistance, and potential block resistance capability. The launch of this new range of acrylic resins can support to improve the properties of acrylic resins, which in turn, will expand its application in different fields. Therefore, increasing product launches is expected to offer an opportunity for the global acrylic resins market.
