Published: Dec 2021 | Report Code: OMR2025290 | Category : Pharmaceuticals | Delivery Format: /

The global sterile solution for injection market is expected to grow at a significant CAGR during the forecast period (2021-2027). The sterilized solution is used to mix infant formula for babies, dilute or dissolve water-soluble medications for injections, and mix infant formula for persons with impaired immune systems. It is mostly utilised in medical settings since it cannot transmit infections. Although sterile water is occasionally distilled, it is not the same as distilled water. Owing to the ability of some microbes to live at high temperatures, boiling water alone may not be sufficient to sterilise it.

Sterile solution for injection is sterile, nonpyrogenic injection water that contains no bacteriostat, antimicrobial agent, or additional buffer. It is exclusively available in single-dose vials and is used to dilute or dissolve medications for injection. Dissolve enough solute to form an approximately isotonic solution for intravenous administration. H2O is the chemical symbol for water for injection, USP. pH ranges from 5.0 to 7.0. Polypropylene resin is used to make the plastic single-dose vial. The plastic vials have a twist-off cap that, when removed, reveals a luer-lock fitting that may be used to connect to a luer-lock syringe.

The twist-off cap is a one-time use tamper-evident device, and once removed, the container vial cannot be reclosed. The demand for injectable medications is driving the development of the sterile solution for injection. In Africa, reasons such as lack of access to vital medications and vaccinations, poor quality healthcare, malnutrition, poverty, and a tropical (warm) climate are driving demand for essential drugs in sterile injectable form for speedier cancer treatment which in turn is increasing the demand of sterile solution for injection.
